Gianluigi Buffon Responds to Antonio Conte Juventus Rumors: “It’s Not That Simple”
Posted 1 day 13 hours agoGianluigi Buffon, the legendary Italian goalkeeper and Juventus icon, has weighed in on the swirling rumors linking Antonio Conte back to Juventus. According to Buffon, the idea of Conte returning to Turin is far from straightforward despite widespread speculation.
Conte, currently managing Napoli in his first season with the club, remains under contract until 2027 but has been heavily linked to a Juventus comeback following their disappointing campaign this season. Having played alongside Conte at both Juventus and the Italian national team, Buffon considers the rumors natural but cautions against jumping to conclusions.
"It's understandable that a coach of his caliber is linked to big clubs, but the reality is not as simple as many imagine," Buffon told ANSA. He emphasized that Conte remains fully focused on finishing the season strongly with Napoli.

Napoli is locked in a fierce title race with Inter Milan, heading into the final matchday where Napoli will face Cagliari, while Inter travels to play Como. Buffon reiterated that Conte has yet to make any public statements about leaving and is committed to his current mission.
Beyond the Conte-Juventus talk, Buffon congratulated Inter Milan on their impressive performances this season, particularly their qualification for the Champions League final. He praised Inter’s coach Simone Inzaghi for his tactical prowess in preparing the team for high-stakes single-leg matches, a positive sign for Italian football on the European stage.
“Congratulations to Inter for their achievements in Serie A and the Champions League,” Buffon said. “I am optimistic about the final because Inzaghi has proven he knows how to prepare a team for a one-off game.”
