Posted 3 weeks 3 days agoDewa United Banten’s head coach Pablo Favarel is showing growing confidence as the team approaches the 2025 IBL Playoffs, citing improved team chemistry and a revamped roster. Now in his second season with the club, Favarel believes his squad has matured significantly compared to the previous year.
The Argentine tactician is aiming to steer Dewa United to its first IBL championship, stating that the team’s cohesion and depth are their biggest strengths heading into the crucial postseason phase. As the regular season nears its end, Favarel revealed that player rotation will be more strategic, tailored specifically for playoff intensity.
“We’re emphasizing minimizing mistakes, staying locked in on our game plan, and sharpening execution in crunch time,” said Favarel. Favarel highlighted the importance of new signing Arki Dikania Wisnu, a seasoned player with five championship titles. “Arki brings intelligence, energy, and leadership — especially during the playoffs.
His experience is invaluable to us,” he said. The coach also praised the depth of both local and international players, naming standouts like Kaleb, Hardianus, Solano, Adams, and Prosper, who, along with role players such as Dio Tirta and Patrick, have created a well-rounded, competitive unit.
Team manager Matius Zaki Iskandar also underlined the importance of off-court preparation as the playoffs approach. “We’re supporting the players holistically — from nutrition, recovery, and mental readiness to strategic training.
Playoff basketball brings pressure, and we’re ensuring our athletes are prepared physically and mentally,” said Zaki. He also introduced the addition of Joel Pose to the coaching staff, responsible for scouting and analytics, calling it a move that could make a decisive difference in the postseason.
The final two games will be pivotal for Dewa United, especially the match against Pelita Jaya, which could determine the top seed of the regular season. A win would place Dewa United at the top of the standings, replicating last season’s success and providing a crucial psychological boost heading into the playoffs.
All eyes are now on Kaleb Ramot Gemilang and his teammates as they aim to close out the season strong and chase the championship dream.
