Anthony Edwards, Julius Randle Power Timberwolves Past Warriors to Take 3-1 Series Lead
Posted 1 week 5 days agoMINNEAPOLIS – Anthony Edwards delivered another electric performance with 30 points — his second straight 30-point game — while Julius Randle poured in 31 to help the Minnesota Timberwolves defeat the Golden State Warriors 117-110 on Monday night. With the victory, the Timberwolves now lead the Western Conference semifinal series 3-1 and return home with a chance to close out the best-of-seven series in Game 5 on Wednesday night.
Despite a strong showing from five Warriors players who scored in double figures, including Jonathan Kuminga’s team-high 23 points off the bench, Golden State couldn’t hold their halftime lead. The Warriors entered the third quarter up by two but were overwhelmed by a dominant Timberwolves run, getting outscored 39-17.
Edwards caught fire during that stretch, scoring 16 points and hitting key three-pointers to flip the game in Minnesota’s favor.

In contrast, the Warriors struggled offensively, managing just 36.8% shooting and missing all six of their three-point attempts in that pivotal period. The Timberwolves’ hot shooting night continued across the game, finishing 47.1% from deep with 16 made three-pointers.
Julius Randle and Edwards combined for 61 of Minnesota’s 117 points, showcasing their chemistry and offensive leadership. Jaden McDaniels also contributed with a solid double-double, scoring 10 points and grabbing 13 rebounds.
The Timberwolves’ defense, led by coach Chris Finch’s strategy to limit Golden State’s perimeter threats, proved effective in stifling the Warriors’ three-point game. Jonathan Kuminga was a bright spot for Golden State, converting 11 of 12 free throws and delivering a strong follow-up to his 30-point effort in Game 3.
Jimmy Butler and Draymond Green added 14 points each, while Buddy Hield scored 13. Head coach Steve Kerr continued using Kuminga off the bench and kept Trayce Jackson-Davis in the starting lineup, looking for size and defense.
